Customer Review: Best Comedy Series… Of All Time?
As I said in my review for the second season, this is the best comedy on air. However, I have to amend that. The US version of “The Office” may very well be the best comedy series of all time. That’s a bold statement, yeah, but it doesn’t make it any less true. Never before have I seen a comedy that really goes to the most ludicrous, ridiculous places and still manages to keep the integrity of the characters, creating a multi-layered story that can mean so many different things at once. Many times during this season, I found myself unsure whether to laugh, cry for, or just be insanely proud of these characters. From Dwight’s pepper spray incident, to the Andy stuff, to the Pam/Jim/Karen triangle, to everything Michael did or said, this season was just so full of hilarious moments that, while they’re still as gut bustingly funny as anything from the first season, really strive to move the audience by showing the humanity of these characters. After the supreme climax of Season Two’s finale (”Casino Night”) in which Pam and Jim finally kissed, this season could have been a let down in so many ways… but both the writers and the cast rose to the occasion, creating the best season they’ve turned in so far. Not only is this season the best story and character-wise, it also has some major “perks.” This season has more double-length episodes than we’ve seen before, and also has some really cool guest directors taking the reigns. Joss Whedon and J. J. Abrams are some examples. Also, there are some great new additions to the cast that really spice things up. All in all, it’s another outstanding season that continues to set “The Office” apart from every other sitcom out there. 9/10

Design
With a total weight of 5.1 ounces and slim measurements of 3.87 x 2.91 x 0.87 inches (WxHxD), the n?vi 350 is just right for the pocket or purse. A bright, 64,000-color display dominates the front of the device and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels means that there’s plenty of room for displaying map data and other elements of the device’s interface. An SD memory card slot is provided for expansion software, such as a points of interest database, media files and electronic guides (see below). The flip-up antenna includes an MCX-type connector for connecting the unit to an external GPS antenna. Meanwhile, a powerful built-in speaker resides on the back of device. A built-in lithium ion battery will give you for to eight hours of battery life, depending on use. In addition to an AC charger, the unit also ships with a 12-volt power adapter for vehicle charging, as well as a windshield suction cup mount.

Fortunately, Garmin has made it easy to interface with the n?vi 350’s 700 megabytes of onboard memory, thanks to “plug-and-play” USB mass storage support. Just plug the device into your computer’s USB port and you’ve got instantaneous access to all the audio books, music, photos, supplemental maps and other data on the n?vi 350’s internal and SD card memory.

Navigation
The n?vi 350 is first and foremost a personal GPS device. Wherever you go — in your car or on foot– the device offers extremely accurate position data, thanks to a high-sensitivity integrated GPS receiver by SiRF and WAAS-enabled, 12-satellite reception. Combined with detailed maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico the n?vi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and touchscreen control– making it easy to find your way anywhere. In addition to the included travel tools, additional software add-ons are available, such as the Garmin Language Guide, with data provided by Oxford University Press. This software suite contains a multilingual word bank, phrase bank, and five bilingual dictionaries. The multilingual word bank and phrase bank supports nine languages and dialects, including American English, British English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, European Spanish, and Latin American Spanish. Now you can look up and translate more than 17,000 words or 20,000 phrases per language — right in the palm of your hand. What to eat, what not to eat, and how to think about health: a manifesto for our times

“Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.” These simple words go to the heart of Michael Pollan’s In Defense of Food, the well-considered answers he provides to the questions posed in the bestselling The Omnivore’s Dilemma.

Humans used to know how to eat well, Pollan argues. But the balanced dietary lessons that were once passed down through generations have been confused, complicated, and distorted by food industry marketers, nutritional scientists, and journalists-all of whom have much to gain from our dietary confusion. As a result, we face today a complex culinary landscape dense with bad advice and foods that are not “real.” These “edible foodlike substances” are often packaged with labels bearing health claims that are typically false or misleading. Indeed, real food is fast disappearing from the marketplace, to be replaced by “nutrients,” and plain old eating by an obsession with nutrition that is, paradoxically, ruining our health, not to mention our meals. Michael Pollan’s sensible and decidedly counterintuitive advice is: “Don’t eat anything that your great-great grandmother would not recognize as food.”

Writing In Defense of Food, and affirming the joy of eating, Pollan suggests that if we would pay more for better, well-grown food, but buy less of it, we’ll benefit ourselves, our communities, and the environment at large. Taking a clear-eyed look at what science does and does not know about the links between diet and health, he proposes a new way to think about the question of what to eat that is informed by ecology and tradition rather than by the prevailing nutrient-by-nutrient approach.

Customer Review: Stick with Omnivore’s Dilemma
I thought it was beyond funny that the first people Michael Pollan cited in his acknowledgments sections were his editors. I thought this book could have used some more editing actually. It was repetitive and overly sensational. I cook my own food and have a garden, and it still made me feel incredibly inadequate at providing for myself, which is ridiculous. I am not entirely convinced that we should completely denounce nutritionism and science because God does it better. Sounds like the same malarkey that challenges evolutionary science. And I thought it a serious weakness that Pollan uses food studies when it’s convenient for his argument to do so. Kudos to Pollan for making a lot of this research and information approachable to the average American, but I feel like he’s preaching the the choir. The people who really need to read this book probably can’t afford it. Bottom Line: I celebrated finishing this book by serving myself up a HUGE bowl of Lucky Charms. Ah…high fructose corn syrup…it’s been a while, my friend…

I ordered this product based on reading the other reviews. The first thing that I found when I got the product was that is does not have the taper the photo on Amazon shows. It’s just a 2″ strap from the top of the shoulder to under the arm pit of the reverse shoulder, making it not as comfortable as it appears in the photo. Second, the chemical smell of the (I think) neoprene was so overpowering, it made me light headed. I soaked it and washed it three times, before it lighted up when dry. The product helps, but is not a cure. If your shoulders are massive, this will likely be too tight for you. I give think if it was what was pictured, I would have gave it 3 stars.

It LOOKED like a good scale. It’s the only one I saw that could read in tenths of pounds but it worked only intermittently right out of the box. I just sent it back. Amazon gave me no trouble returning it. Even if it had worked it is a bother to have to push a button to turn it on before getting on to weigh yourself. A scale like the one from Oregon Scientific turns on automatically when you get on it. I have one of those and it worked for many years but it reads in two tenth increments and is now having problems.

I purchased this product to ease my tense muscles. I only used it a few times when the control began flashing red, no response to any buttons pressed (including inability to turn it off) and the heat function no longer operated. I used this one at least several times or so, then it did the same thing as the first one. It stopped working. It has already been over 30 days so Amazon refused to take it back despite it being a defective item. Instead, they only could offer the number for Sunbeam. They were closed when I called, but if anyone else is having this problem, which I would think it HIGHLY LIKELY considering my bad experience with TWO of these heating pads you can contact Sunbeam at 1800 892 7684 My experience with this heating pad has been disappointing and I would not recommend this heating pad to others. In addition to not working more than several uses, the blue fabric is an unpleasant texture and appears to be quality.

Customer Review: Careful if you get headaches
I kind of hate to give this one star because I don’t really know if it works. I have tried it three times and I got a blazing headache that lasted for about 4 hours each time. It was almost immediately upon catching a glipse of the blue so I really don’t know if this works for someone who can take the light for the 30 minutes or so. Since I assume I am not typical I hesitate to give a single star but am doing so to make sure this gets read. If you are no prone to headaches you may be just fine. I have had them through the years, though have been lucky enough to avoid for the last few. I am writing this to let migraine sufferers know that they should not risk it. Don’t risk your money and, if you are a migraine sufferer you know what I mean, don’t risk a headache. Pass and find another way to restore your energy. IF you are not a migraine sufferer, feel free - I have nothing really to say good or bad as I simply don’t know. I do know it is nice and compact and does go on as expected with a nice little sound. It seems like it would be a pleasant way of gaining energy - if only I could.

I had a great SAD lite but it was so huge. I read about this and it sounded great. Specifically the long battery life and portability. Well if you have blue eyes you better look for something else. I learned the hard way that many people with blue eyes get MIGRAINES from the blue light. YEP, happened to me. Then I tried to use it without the power and it only held a 30 min charge with 36 hours being plugged in. SAD to say it was not what I had high hopes of. So back it went. I have never had a problem with acid reflux or stomach upset. The Bayer One-A-Day Men’s Health Formula causes problems every time I take it. I would have a lot of burping with an upset stomach for many hours after taking the pill even after a full meal. I have never had acid reflux, but I was ready to call the doctor but decided to wait and see if discontinuing the tablets would help. No problems now because I have discontinued the tablets.

I got this G-shock chronograph sport watch because of my previous experience with Casio watches i own a club-G and i had no regrets so i have decided to try a 100% G-shock.

So far no complaints it’s comfortable, stylish,light weight and not too thick, i hate to see someone wearing a watching looking like a power ranger radio on their wrist, this watch is great. I’ll recomemend Casio any day laterz folks.

I love this watch, buy I haven’t been able to get it synch’d to the salt water creek near my home.

Now that you know I love the watch, let me tell you some drawbacks. Unless you are familiar with the tide cycles, which I am not, you may have a hard time configuring this watch for your area. The instructions booklet has an extremely small font, about 4 point type. I’m not fond of the bracelet-type band, but could not find a stretch band to match this style. My jeweler was able to fit the band to my wrist, so I am getting used to this type band.

Why do I love it, well for the price it is very well made and functions very well. The time settings are easier to change than some similar and more expensive watches that I’ve had. And the tide graph is just cool.

This is a lot of watch for the price! It is attractive and strudy. The band appears to be stainless steel(is marked stainless steel on the buckle part). I bought this for my husband to replace a tide watch that wore out. He is an electronics guru, but still had difficulty setting the tide segment with the provided instructions. He also wishes the tide display was larger. Now that the watch is set and he has been wearing it, he likes it very much and was shocked when I told him how little it cost. Since he uses it on our boat, we will find out whether or not the entire band is stainless.
